Extraordinary contemporary designed, estate quality leaded glass window.
Window measurements are 34" width by 48" height. The window can be hung/ installed vertically.
The hydrangea design was inspired by its rich colors and complex design. There are more than 1,500 pieces of shaped glass in this piece - hand cut, copper-foiled war and soldered to provide strength. Designed and fabricated in 2017, the landing window is a blend of textured antique art glass and intricately designed deep blue glass and vibrant green leaves.
The window is supported throughout the borders utilizing 1/2 inch zinc channels and core frame. The piece uses lead came throughout , along with a thin copper foil for the centerpiece. Each piece of glass is thin foiled, soldered and finished in black patina.
The design and fabrication studio (Aldie Glassworks/ North Shore Stained Glass) has more than 25 years of experience, with numerous installations in Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Custom fabrications include residential, commercial, church and historical projects.
